  1. GB if you knew Moonyaker you would find he has the driest and largest tongue in cheek sense of humour around. Got a great Kayak aswell
  2. HOw did I know you would put that one up. "Im not gay or owt" . Just knackered having dragged the yak up from the beach. For those looking at the Worbarrow thread this is it from the Lulworth end (West). The sea was too rough to paddle back to Lulworth so we had to portage them over a bl...y big hill.
  3. Richi has some pretty bad ones of me Im sure he will oblige.
  4. I posted the reason why I didn't vote on the thread. I'm with Speciman.
  5. If you are hauling your Kayak on a scupper trolley the walk from the NT carpark is hard work. However if you have a CTug or equivalent then once you balance the yak its not too bad and possible. However, the haul from the beach up to the track is definately a 2 man job and knackering at that. Also, due to illegal raves taking place at Tyneham village they now lock the carpark at 10pm, re opening at 0830. You could always leave a note saying that you are happy to be locked in. This is also the reason why not a lot of shore fishing takes place there anymore. The Black Hawk is about half a mile out from the bay and spread over a 300m area. This is due to repeated attempts to blow it up. The divers say that the biggest piece is only about 6ft high. If you look at the map you will see a small wreck just off the tout. This is a small barge that sank there and can be seen on a finder. The weather and geology plays an important role at Warbarrow. It is open to all S-NW winds and can be difficult for all sorts of reasons in a wind over 13mph. However, if the wind is from any other direction you can normally find a sheltered spot. Paddling from Kimmeridge is possible but you can find yourself paddling against wind and tide on the flood making it hard work. Also you cannot park overnight (private estate). Paddling from Lulworth is the easier option but again you need the weather on your side. You get a confused sea along the cliffs leading from Lulworth to Mupe Rock. Certainly any S-NW wind over 13mph makes the trip unpredictable (Richi will confirm this). This is the same spot where 2 lads were washed off the cliffs by a freak wave a year or so ago. In my experience it does not fish well on springs but fishes through the tide cycle at other times. Due to the Ranges being in use you will not be able to fish on the 11th but the comp dates of 13-14 will be possible if the weather is OK. (Subject to any weekend firing. Contact Portland Coastguard). If the weather is good enough I would be happy to show you around and fish the comp from there.
  6. Hey guys thats over 50 posts ............we're flying
  7. I was suprised that that bee keeping site didn't offer nectar points
  8. Sorry but drone has already been done see post 28. Your out, repetition. I think the thread is bumbling along quite nicely.
  9. Your joking. There's bound to be a sting in the tale!
  10. IF its all the same to you I think I'll give ZZippy's Zip Lube a miss thank you very much.
  11. Try these. (The power of Google) http://www.thorne.co.uk/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/mi...ID=!ORDERID! You can get me a block while you are at it. Now Buzz off.
  12. You dont half drone on! Try any decent DIY store or candle shop. Or any Apiarist (close) near you.
  13. Beeswax or even good old candle wax is fine if done regularly.
  14. Yep you are right it was £260 not £360.
  15. Thats the one Simon and £30 squid cheaper than I paid.
  16. MArk the big dodoos is as always if you get caught. Anyone who owns and operates electrical equipment that is found to be interferring with official comms ie emergency service, air traffic control and there are several others, is breaking the law. In theory you could cause a major accident or prevent a rescue etc. Thats what the E mark is for. It shows that the equipment, amongst other things, will not interfere across emegency wave bands in the european area. The problem is that different parts of the world operate on different wavelengths. However, just because it comes from the states doesn't mean that its not E marked. It may well be OK. Just confirm via email before hand. Then you are covered. Same goes for the warranty. Several Ebay suppliers have been caught out.
  17. That rings a bell. Thanks Neil. The cheaper suit had latex seals but the better suit had neoprene. Contrary to popular beliefs and a fuzzy video I hate latex
  18. Thanks Sportsman. Just to go back over old ground. If buying electricals from the states make sure it is E marked and that the full warranty applies here. The E mark is something to do with european operating frequences being different to US ones and there being no conflict with emergency VHF and other bands. Otherwise you can end up in big dodoos.
  19. The collar version is the suit I have. Both me and Richi looked at all the dry suits at the Boat Show. I can't remember why but it was the collared version I went for. Just check the specs because a collar was not the reason I chose that suit although it is usefull for keeping the wind at bay. The suit is brilliant and it is very breathable (74% which is the highest in its price range). Highly recommended.
  20. Darnsarf - They can't handle a centimetre, the wife aint for fooling, but the account is easier for me to spend from. Then you obviously need a waterproof camera as well!! Also need to add a "system support system", that would be the P13 with GPS and VHF. Didn't you just love "Yes, Prime Minister".
  21. Your cameras can only handle a certain depth the "Sonar" will save you money by not pushing your cameras beyond their specifications and damaging them. In the medium term this will free up more revenue for "Shopping".
  22. You wont go far wrong with this paddle light enough for 10 milers and the blades are robust enough to handle those rocky shore landings etc. The wings are great but you do require a diffrent paddling technique that many have problems getting on with. The crank shafts are good if you suffer with wrist problems but again require a different technique but it isnt hard to adapt to it. Not quite as efficient as a straight shaft but again this can be overcome with practice. For what its worth.
