  1. Actually Sam It was 1939 to 1945, and farmed fish doesn't taste like "real" fish, but i wouldn't eat a perch, as i don't fish in fresh water Knight
  2. So it makes sense for you to go to your local supermarket and pay around £1.00 for 4 Ounces of cod fillet Sam?, when I can go and catch a whole cod from the beach, which i know is fresh and hasn't been sitting for a week in the fish hold of a trawler, all for a few minutes digging bait ! And i don't " Need " to angle to feed the family, I angle because i enjoy angling, being able to take a fish home for the pot makes the angling better, Besides this, every fish i catch is one that the netters have missed which if you look at it logically is one in the eye for the netters, if more people took fish home to eat, then the market for netted fish would fall and the netters would have to find something else to do Knight And Steve No I'm not an eskimo, but bl**dy cold enough to be one,
  3. As some of you know, i'm primarily an angler for feedstuffs, for my wee ones and the lady boss, but if gan home empty handed, i divn't think of it as a wasted day , more like a reminder that them fish oot thar are more canny than we know Knight
  4. So he's full of shite then Sam, hope he feels better soon then buddy Knight
  5. Mmmm Mmmm Mmm, mmm mmm m mmmm m mmmmmmmmm mmm mmmm mmmmm mmm mmmmmmm mmmmmm mmmm mmmmmmm m m I aint saying a word Knight
  6. Newt , my post was directed at those who said "No" and was Oh sod it I can't be bothered Knight
  7. I voted yes, Why can't there be a special forum kinght
  8. As i have said already, should Bass be favoured above all other species ?would that improve sea fishing as a whole, i think not ! You by your own admission are obsessed with Bass, I'd like to see the same measures put in place to protect all fish, not just one species, Why should other species be fished to extinction in favour of your obsession, if, and i don't doubt they do, 100 tons of cod are landed somewhere, do you jump up and down and make a fuss, no you don't give a stuff, Stop being so blinkered and look at the whole picture ! Knight
  9. Take it for a run of about 50 miles, that'll get the engine hot enough to burn out any crap knight
  10. Yes waste is waste , and if the fish in the said magazines aren't being eaten then surely that is a waste, But the hysteria that a few Bass, which by the way i understand had bred at least once, so releasing more "baby" Bass back into the sea, has raised is unbelievable, if it were cod or mullet, ling, mackerel, (mackerel now thats a story on it's own , i was watching a Henry Gilbey show on T.V the other night , they were feathering for Mackerel, once they'd unhooked them , did they despatch them, no did they hell, just left them drowning in a bait box,) But i don't see anyone jumping up and down and complaining that they're too being fish to extinction, so "What" is exactly your point, should all the fish be disregarded, in favour of Bass, Knight
  11. Double My point exactly , people on here a grizzling cos some fella in Guernsey landed a trio of Bass to 18lb, yet the magazine in question is full of pictures of dead fish, why is the furore not over the magazines printing photos of all the dead fish, which invariably ended up inside a cat or dustbin, Knight
  12. Thanks for you input, and your sexual preferences are of no interest to me either Knight
  13. I think it has more to do with your ethnic background and religous status in the UK myself Knight
  14. Sharkbyte Your thread was entitled "Disgusted" , Disgusted, I assume, that probably all those fish that were taken were killed, merely for the photographic titillation of the reading public of the sea angling magazines, or ended up being dumped, fed to the cats or whatever the "catch, kill, photograph brigade do with the fish they catch,Then I too, am disgusted, if this is the case , but as i said earlier, i fish to feed my family, If the fish that end up as photographs in a magazine are merely disposed of after the thrill of the "5 minutes of fame" then surely this is an even bigger waste, than taking the fish to eat Knight
  15. Why was that deleted , As your original reply was phrased, it could only have served to start a stupid fight on a thread that so far is making good sense. This one is reasonable and will stay. Newt An 18lb Bass would get yield a lot of meat, around 12 lb once it's head was taken out of the equation , I fish to supplement my dietary needs, and feed my family, Sure if all you're going to do is take it home to feed the cat's or photograph it, and send your picture to an angling mag, (which all of them, in my opinion should actively discourage that is, the act of killing fish for photographic value), then i'm all for catch look at, then release. As i said i fish to feed the family, don't you fellas realise that animals have to die to feed humans Knight
  16. Salt n vinegar and Cheese n onion flavoured Dabs
  17. Could you not slide it thru a window ?
  18. Steve I had no intention of causing aggro, I merely made a reply to Sam Cox's post where he stated that in his opinion Bass were "the" anglers fish, I read your post, and each to his own, I don't target them myself as i fish to catch fish that i like to eat, and i don't like Bass Knight
  19. Ahhhhhh Diddums Does someone here not think that bass are not the be all and end all of sea angling Knight
  20. What the feck does that mean ? Knight Why Because i don't think the sun shines out of a Bass's backside Knight
  21. I think you'd pick holes in any post that didn't support Bass fishing and the blasted BMP, are you a politician by chance Knight
  22. And what!, Sam said, and i quote " for me Bass are special and will always be the anglers fish " I said , " thats your opinion Sam " , doesn't my view correspond with yours "again" Knight
  23. Thats your opinion Sam Not everyones, Knight
