  1. Bill I'm sorry to hear this. I hope medical technology finds a way to get you back on the water again but I'd just like to record my appreciation for the way you've supported the sport right from it's embryonic days. You were one of the first people that I spoke to when we started bringing in kayaks for fishing & I know that the development in the UK owes a good deal to your pioneering - your early experimentation & research in to safe ways of doing things paved the way for how things are today. As another poster said - don't disappear - I hope to see you at an event down Devon way in the future Thanks again Andrew Johnson Outdoors UK
  2. Andrew - 2nd attempt due to dodgy eyesight/technique! AS Watersports in Haven Road have a Kayak Fishing come & try day tomorrow - 9th May - All the major brands will be available to try there so it couldn't be more convenient I would imagine. Mark & Tim from JO UK will be representing Ocean Kayak & Humminbird - to declare my interest - we're happy to be compared with all on show Andrew JO UK
  3. M5 Mike - length depends on what is the base depth of the fitting you're putting on. I hope you have a lot of fun with it! Cheers Andrew (JO UK)
  4. Richi The channel is kids stuff compared to the miles you put in! Irish Sea perhaps...good fishing on the other side?!
  5. That's phenomenal mate! I've sailed round & that was hard going! Enjoy your kip Andrew
  6. Martin Whilst not (naturally) agreeing that it's a shame that the boards are saturated with OK products I would only venture that it's probably a reflection on (& here comes the plug!) worldwide sales as well as in the UK. OK have been producing specialist fishing kayaks for a decade now & it's possible to buy ten different models (that's hull shapes not variations) so it's statistically more likely that a greater degree of posts will be related to our products. A marketing genius I'm not...we try to let the products do the talking :-) Regards Andrew (JO UK)
  7. We'll receive the first batch in early-mid August of both 11 & 13. Shipment left last week from Washington State so usually approximately a month in transit - next batch to follow shortly afterwards. Official launch is at the Southampton Boat Show 12th-21st September (Stand B54) but they'll be available in the shops from mid August. NB Jeff - Prowler 13 & Trident 13 are very different boats...we are very much carrying on with your model...it is still the biggest seller worldwide. Regards Andrew (JO UK)
  8. Have a word with Dave at North Devon...he takes a lot of stuff from us & is willing to get anything in for people to look at. Nice people to deal with! Regards Andrew
  9. Which is your local shop? I'd be surprised if they don't have an account with us for Lendal or Carlisle. Andrew (JO UK)
  10. Elton, thanks & it's appreciated but I wouldn't want to abuse the hospitality you show or the patience of people here who log on to chat about their passion, sport, hobby...I know I wouldn't want a bunch of commercial self-promoters muscling in so I will, gratefully, just answer where others may not be able to. Many thanks Andrew
  11. Hi Plugger I just thought I'd point out that both the Malibu 2 & the Malibu XL have the central paddler position with it's own footwells & anchor points so that you can move the back rest according to single or double use. The Mal 2 will take 2 adults & a little one - we developed the XL because little ones get bigger! As the children get older & you don't mind them being behind you (always frightening in my experience!) you can sit the larger person in the middle for better distribution of weight. Arriving very shortly will be a 3 adult or 2+2 kids boat called the Morocco. You'll not have heard of it because we'll launch it at Boat, Caravan & Leisure Show (19th-24th Feb) if, fingers crossed, it arrives in time. In some ways it will be less suitable for fitting out than the XL - we made the decks on the XL wide enough for this & to provide some flat areas for mounting whatever you wish. The only reason I mentioned it was the extra combinations available. Sorry - I tried to send this by private mail but it wouldn't let me...I try & answer technical queries or issues on the board but I'm not a believer in enthusiasts forums being used to plug products. Best regards Andrew (Johnson Outdoors UK)
  12. The zip will be easier to use & last much longer if you buy a block of beeswax & use it regularly...it doesn't wash off, degrade materials or dry out. Regards Andrew
  13. It's true then...he is related to Neptune!
  14. Nah...she had been looking down!
  15. You would Mark...I guarantee!
  16. Knitted from finest pubic hair...www.cloutonthehead.com!! Think about it?
  17. Speedo Trident is available in two forms currently - Standard = no flush mount rod holders at £669 & Angler which has the Angler graphics & flush mounts already fitted. As of next week the fully fitted version will be available which has rudder ready fitted, deluxe back restc/w dual rod holder pack, Humminbird 383c colour fishfinder ready fitted, scupper stoppers, 2 piece paddle, Scotty powerlock rod holders, anchor trolley as well as the rest of the angler spec...this will be around £1400, final price still to be calculated. Trident can be tested at various different venues through dealers or see details of our feedback team under OK Feedback in the Anglers Afloat forum...covers both sides of the Atlantic! Regards Andrew (JO UK)
  18. Karl - I sent you a strut for the C-Tug on September 9th...FOC as it happens to the address you provided but not heard anything since? Try PM from this board if you don't get a reply..sometimes when I'm on the road & operating from a SIM card dial up I've lost mails to the main JO address but from here they go to my Yahoo account...same applies to rogd...If I see them we usually respond as quickly as possible...it may sometimes be a few days if I'm abroad. Apologies to anyone else who has not got replies but try the above method if the first doesn't work? NB if the office@johnsonoutdoors.co.uk email is used all the customer services staff see it...doesn't just rely on me being there.
  19. This not from a professional but a personal view...isn't it one big flat spot?
  20. I've got the MJU770SW - I know nothing about photography but it copes with my limitations to produce ok pics. My only comment is that it doesn't have a viewfinder - only a big screen thing & it's sometimes difficult to get what you want in bright sunlight. Seems to cope with falling in the water & getting splashed which is all I've done so far...would happily try underwater shots if ever the need arises. Snapper is the pro photographer...he'd probably give you an opinion from the other end of the ability scale! cheers Andrew
  21. Steinbesser Uwe Goetz of Kagro in Hamburg (I think you went to him looking for Ocean Kayaks earlier) is the Yak equipment distributor & they are owned by Crewsaver. I spoke to Mark Luttnam the European Sales mansger at Crewsaver who says he'd be happy to supply through him if it helps. Apparently the Crewsaver importer in Germany went bad on them!! Regards Andrew
  22. David It's in the Sun & you need to ask if it's real???!!! :0)
