    Holiday!

Sorry about this If you check out several differnt sites but I'm fishing for info again Anyone out there familiar with the Oban area of Scotland as I am off on me jollies for a week soon . The specific area I will be in is Port Appin within Yak dragging distance of the shores of Loch Linnhe. Any advice on species, tactics and local conditions greatly appreciated (need some practice for the coming year as I haven't been out for a paddle since Christmas ) Cheers, Nemo the Dry
  2. Great report Jeff, Whats the legalities of fishing from a craft on this canal then? do you need a BCU licence and are any of the bank stretches run by club's.
  3. I to am guilty of laziness when it comes to posting but that said up to press my forays onto the wet stuff have been few and far between sadly, I agree that now there are a lot of other forums set up and people tend to post more on their local sites and I am one of these but I alway's check this site out from loyalty because when I was looking into getting my first Kayak two years ago it was and still is a vast source of information. long live Anglers Net!!
  4. Dumb question Speciman , but with the rods mounted forward and down does this not get in the way of your paddle stroke or are you using long rods? Nemo

    New C-Tug

Guy's, Just got a C-Tug myself and after a couple of DIY jobs (mostly to heavy, not collapsable and mostly failed eventually ), it works like a dream. Having a Perception Freedom storage is always a bit of a problem but the new chariot collapses down and fits thro the front hatch the wheels go in the rear tank well. Cheers, Nemo

    loacl fishing

If it's Sunday I may be able to make it, which venue have you decided on. Cheers, Nemo
  10. Got my Greenland paddle top and a pair of of paddle pant's from them, at least £10.00 cheaper than anywhere else and the turnaround time was just a couple of day's....recommended
  11. Take a look at how well the £ is doing against the $ and think again Vol
  12. Woooo!! There Volusian, Before you give your hard earned to Maplins check out Anson electronics down the Boulavard in Hull (http://www.ansonelectronics.co.uk/) . I am sure they will sell sealed batteries (Yausa) and possibly the chargers (used to get intruder alarm gear from them in the distant past). When I have had stuff off them they have been a lot cheaper than most in my experience so nothing ventured nothing gained . Nemo
  13. Look at kayakfishinguk.net, Andyrocks90 had one for sale a week back, don't know if he still has it. Looks like a perception freedom to me
  14. Space Monkey, Welcome, seem's to be an ever increasing team of yakker's turning up in the area, now I don't feel so alone. Would be interested in meeting up in the near future as soon as the weather settles a bit. Nicepix, Sorted myself with some WF 7# for my 9 1/2 footer during summer but never got the chance to use it in anger, had a bit of a practice on dry land and it seems that you can loose the knack for fly casting if you havn't done it for 12 year's . Still, managed not to impale me self . Cheers
  15. Cost effective...you just said the magic word..
  16. Aahh.... the vex'd question of kit location on the freedom, I've had mine since March this year but have just had enough outings and as much pondering time to finaly decide on location of scotty mounts e.t.c. Having just purchaced some flush mount's off S2vto (Thank's M8 there going to work a treat) I have removed the mount from the front of the Yak and will get some extenders for the flush mount s from somewhere (any suggestions anyone). I've also fitted a deck hatch to the rear of the seat which will make a big difference.
  17. Volusian, Club training?. Would that be with the Kingston Kayak Club I was looking at the web site the other day.
  18. Volusian, Handling surf without tipping out....mmmmmmmm. never encountered that one before as most of my launches have so far have been into reletively flat sea's, but theres a first time for everything Cheers
  19. Really chuffed with mine as I have now fitted another screw hatch behind the seat (£7.00 from boat jumble ..bargain). Find it comfortable to fish in although you have to be canny about mounting locations of scotty mounts e.t.c. Cheers, Kev.
  20. Foiled again, Once more the dreaded weekend work stops another fishing outing, good look to all and don't forget the pic's. Cheer's Kev.
  21. Nicepix/Volusian, Stop posting pic's like that it'll make me do something rash like jack in work and go yak fishing all the time (if only I could) . I'm near Hull and would definately be in for some fishing in the East Yorks area, my current locations have been off Easington/Spurn but to be fair I have done more this year on holiday in Dorset and Cornwall. Works been busy so far but I'm determined yo make more time so keep me posted. Cheers, Kev.
  22. Also Done.....If you don't make a loud enough noise these things may never happen..Here's hoping
  23. 2svto, Mmmmm..... maybe interested in 2 in black M8, P.M me with the price. Cheers, Nemo.
  24. Chap's Being a tight assed Yorkshireman I am trying to locate free river fishing in the area (Yorkshire or North Lincolnshire). I already pike fish the river Hull but would like to give somewhere else a go possibly the Ouse or any local canals. Any suggestions greatefully recieved. Cheers, Nemo.
  25. Martin, Thanks, for the invite it would be great to fish with other yakker's for a change, however due to the nature of my flippin' work I cannot commit until last minute. If I can attend I may drive down the Saturday morning just for the day (if I fall asleep in the 'yak don't let me drift away will you) Cheers, Nemo.
