    Photo Of The Day.

Finally we have some colour in the UK LOL
  2. I moved from a 350D to a 20D and there is no way i could go back to a 350D. Although the end result are similar the 20D is better in every other department. Faster and more accurate AF, 100% better ergonomics, miles better build, bigger and brighter viewfinder. Although Gillies says there is only 1mm difference in size i can assure there is not, on the 350D the grip is way too small, i have only medium sized hands and i found i always ended up with 2 fingers under the 350D body and the rest cramped in to the space that was left, on the 20D my entire hand fits on to the grip making it all much more stable, 1mm cannot make that difference. The battery life is double on the 20D, my 350D was dead at 600 shots, my 20D is still showing full when my 4GB card is full (between 1200 and 1400 shots), faster top shutter speed, higher ISO, less blackout time when the shutter actuates, faster bust mode, longer shutter life, 200,000 more pixels (oh wow lol) As for lenses the Canon EF 70-300mm IS is stunning for £369 the image stabilization is just amazing and the lens is sharp as a razor and gives good range. For a walkabout lens the Tamron 24-135 SP at £319 is a great lens, its really well made and the image quality is spot on.
  3. 2¾lb Prodigys for me as well, stunning rods with a wonderfull action and they transmit each bump and knock to your hand. £90 each inc P&P http://www.bennettsangling.com/acatalog/Greys.html with a lifetime warranty. Given what you get who cares if they are made by elfs living under the north sea.

    My New Toy

The 20D is stunning, the kit lens is not quite so good, stright on ebay for that mate thats for sure.
  6. although i am not medically trained in anyway unless you wish to stand over your rods all night like some kind of mental you're body will fall a sleep whether your a butch 10 men or not, it has nothing to do with a "mindset", its got more to do with it being quiet and dark at a wild guess. In the past i have forgot to turn my alarms on and the sound of my baitrunners gently clicking got me up and at'em, however isn't it best to have something loud next to you, something you can not fail to recognise as your noise that you should attend to? As for fishing 20M away, well it is something i have never encountered i must be honest, i get as near as i can.
  7. Make your pre shared key 63 characters, TBH just turning your SSID off will be enough unless a master internet criminal parks out side your house.
  8. rip up some bread and lob it in mate then drop your in the middle of it, if they are there they will go for it.
  9. Krystonite, its great stuff, its very smooth and as limp as someone with brewers droop.

Dan it is not blurred! your skills have improved immeasurably anyone for a bit of ice cream, its toothpaste flavour.
  11. Aye Radio! i forgot to mention that, if i left my PSP i would not mind, if i left my radio i would scream LOL
  12. I have always needed a sounder box, the alarms going off make me stir but really you need a sounder next to your lug'ole to let you know its you that needs to get up sharpish. Although if your bivvy is about 1 meter away then they will wake you up.
  13. After falling for a set of purple MMXRs and receiver at the "cheap" clearance prices that can be had on the net i am very unhappy at the way the "lightpipe technology" works, its it basically a flush plastic lens over a white surface mounted LED, the main problem is it must be pitch black and you must be directly in line with the LED to see it which IMHO is very poor design. Fox just said "this is within the manufactures specification" and Angling Direct never bothered to answer my questions regarding my purchase. My question is does anyone know of a way to mod the MMXR? removing the LED is out of the question cos its surface mounted and i ain't going there. I have thought about drilling the purple lens out and fitting one of the lenses that come with the receiver because they stick out like a normal LED and are therefore visible but that i would have thought means an end to the 2 year warranty. Anyone got any more ideas please? (other than buy delkims etc.)
  14. I had a 350D (which was really great) but after 6 months i upgraded to a 20D, the much more accurate AF, burst speed, handling and build of the 20D were well worth the extra cost.

Cheers Steve and thanks for the welcome I took some at ISO3200 and they have less noise than that one but didnt quite hit the mark, so i had to use that one and brighten it up a bit which is why its a bit noisy
  18. Zoombrowser is a heap of poo to be honest. To convert raw files you need to put on digital photo professional which is on the canon disc. For the 20D to be able to communicate with a PC you need to install EOS Capture. I know you have sorted it but better late then never as they say

Blimey, some stunning shots in that lot. Here is one i took last night. ISO1600, f5.6, 1/8000ths
  20. If you have proof of purchase Sigma might do it free, otherwise it is 30 to 40 quid i think.
  21. Just use an old 50mm SLR lens held reversed next to the lens of your cameras lens fully zoomed out or you can use a reversing ring for convenience. I use a lens that cost £2 from a car boot sale, this is some sugar taken using it handheld up to my G6 http://alnath.fotopic.net/p19781865.html
