  1. I am surprised no ones added good old sweetcorn,as good a bait as any for Tench.
  2. Oven baked Pike is a real treat and fried Perch in butter with a little chives clipped over it is also delicious java script:emoticon('', 'smid_19')

    Snakes?

Very often see snakes out on the Marshes where I fish, please remember all snakes are protected.
  4. Sweetcorn, sweetcorn and more sweetcorn(mind you where I fish the Eels love it too!!)
  5. Purchased a set of "Spectre"floats, what expensive rubbish! they sit so low in the water that one can hardly see anything and don,t try to add a tiny shot to help the hook sink,as they disappear completely.
  6. Can really sypathise over the ticket, for gods sake don't come to hastings and try parking other than in the expensive council car parks. The wardens are like hawks, even with disabled drivers.
  7. Here where I live there are a few clubs that cater for lake as well as river fishing,I joined one the other year but found that there was no contact between members except for the "inner"few. At the start of the new season no one approached me regarding a new subscription.
  8. What a very good response this is,I agree entirely with what is written. Lets not become complacent about our angling, there are many a "anti"just dying to get at us now they have got fox hunting banned. I for one very much doubt that this Swan was poisoned because of an angler. Re:Brian Carragher
  9. Very interesting post from JanO, I looked at the web link, luckily I can speak and read Swedish. What is interesting is that they, the club are introducing Crayfish into the lake, where as here in GB.we just consider them a pest to be got rid of.
  10. If you don't know these weird sounding knots(Idon't sic!),just type in fishing knots into your browser and page after page of sites will appear, many of them give simple instructions.
  11. Just to add,I tied a size 14 hook to these floats and baited with a lob worm, the float completely disappeared from view.
  12. After reading about these new Spectre floats,I waited with great expectations, the arrival of the ones I had purchased and they arrived last saturday morning in time for me to try them over the week-end. Regretfully,I am very disappointed with them, they sit far too low in the water for my liking, leaving only about half an inch at the most above water, this may be great if fishing the margins on a totally wind still day but at any other time it seems impossible to judge if there is any fish interested in ones bait. They are not cheap and I expected something better.
  13. I have been given permission to fish the Guldeford drain,no one can remember when it was last fished,I shall try and fish it in stages as I am restricted to how far I can walk in one go. Will be pleased to leave reports as I go.Should be interesting to say the least.
