IMHO Veals mail order BRILLIANT

Hi Gang,

I don't know what experiences you have had buying via mail order or on line, either good or bad but I would like you to bear with me for a minute or two.

I recently saw a rod and reel advertised that seemed to be just what I was looking for. At the bottom of the page there were several numbers to call and at random I chose Veals. What a lucky choice that was.

Living in Holland usually has its problems when buying things from the UK, not this time.

A phone call to Veals was enough. The lady on the other end was so much help and realy friendly.

I placed my order and asked if she would phone me when it was in the post so I could make sure there was a note on the door if I was not in. She called and 72 hours later the parcel arrived, well packaged and in perfect nick.

Enclosed was a CD and this is well worth getting hold of, not only is it brilliant for the novice angler but it has some good tips for the more experienced.

Veals have some great offers going for members and keep you up to date one super offers to come.

 

With my reel there was a free spool of Mono and a free spool of Braid. I wanted to load the Mono first and then the braid but was not sure how much Mono to load. A quick phone call to Veals produced the answer as well as 2 tips, use the knots "recommended" on the box of braid and it is not only tidecutter so watch your thumb when winding in under pressure. Good tips I can tell you.

Another unsolicited tip was about some bait that I ordered at the same time, watch out she said, "it stinks".

 

In conclusion (at last I hear) there site is very good and easy to navigate, buying is easy and secure. Delivery for me was rapid to say the least. The deal that I took advantage of saved me 155 quid as well as time and money shopping around, I usually end up with more than I want when I visit the tackle shop.

The rod, reel and line were top quality and fished well.

Just to back up Alan, weve put a few orders in over the Net to Veals and have had great results with the stuff arriving within 2 days tops.

 

On the other hand we orderd stuff from Gerry's of Morcame and had a right runaround with them ending up in us taking our busness else where. :-(

Yes - I support my local tackle shop when I can, but if any specialist sea gear is required, I'm straight on the phone to Veals.

 

You always find the person on the other end sounds as if they know what they are doing (rather rare these days) - their service is prompt, and most important, they do have everything in stock. None of this "to follow in a few days" nonsense which many mail order companies indulge in, with the unfortunate customer finding that "a few days" means a couple of months.

I,ve used Veals for many years especially for bulk buys of swivels, hooks, booms etc.

Never had any problems at all and I agree the staff are very nice and DO seem to know what they are talking about.

 

Even though I live within 30 miles of the Coast, the local Tackle Shops have a very poor selection of "end tackle", plenty of rods and reels, but no "bits".

Just to add my sixpen'th,(age showing there). Living in London with no decent sea tackle supplier anywhere near, I've used Veal's both via phone and latterly online for years. Not only do they deliver small items fast, I've even had a rod delivered the next day to my works address, without requesting next day delivery.

I also had a flotation suit delivered in 3 days and best of all, when an order for 'bits and pieces' failed to arrive, it was replaced without question or further charge.

When my then employer was looking for hands free lighting for underground workers, I suggested Veal's as a supplier for Petzl headlights. They've never gone anywhere else, they were so pleased with the service.

I must declare an interest though, one of the headlights found its way to me and I didn't often go sub-surface. It now lives in my tackle box.
