Numerous threads historically on this - I use them as "emergency bait" when fishing on the spur of the moment.

Have caught Wrasse, pollack and a Tadpole fish.

They won't out fish proper bait, but will allow you to fish you don't have any.

Hiya,

Ok from someone who has actualy used it

Yes it does catch fish, sometimes better than anything else (Coalies just love it)

As for not being as good as fresh bait .. what is???

At least it lets you go fishing when you cant get fresh bait!!!!!

I just wish they would bring out a Fish flavour version

I second that Davy.

Always travel with some - caught all sorts from pout and coalies to Tasmanian flatheads.

Beats no bait hands down

I tested it for two years and found it to be the only artificial bait that works both on the beach and boats.

Demonstrated it at a fishing meeting at Aldeburgh in Suffolk two seasons ago, and i caught the most fish on it.

Don't make the mistake in thinking it is better then fresh baits, or a magic fish lure, but it does have it's good days and well worth baiting a third hook with it.

Nowadays theres always a few packets in my tackle bag when i go fishing.

The main reason i ask is i am a student living in student accomodation and i have no freezer. On Sundays when all the tackle shops are closed and i cant get any bait, it would be nice to have something i can use. Will have to get a pack for those last minute trips. Which flavour is recomended?

Why the talk of this type of bait is good when you cannot get to a shop or they are shut? Simple FREEZE some Squid / Mackeral and you will always have good fish bait - SIMPLE!!! :P
