help with fish ID

thousands of these were shoaling and jumping through surf last night literally boiling with them

foul hooked these two when i cast past them to see if anything chasing them inshore

Hi Andrew, I too would go with Sprats...Lovely wee fish. The colouring in superb, irredescent (sp) blues etc....Davy gets lots left on the deck of the Catchalot,in season, left by the Terns giving them as gifts to their betrothed....
