I think Iggy caught what he set out to catch

Maybe :g:

But a piont worth a bit of thought maybe things could be learnt off of one another.

Someone once said to me "Dont worry It could be worse." So I didn't, and It was!

All responsible anglers be they fresh or salty treat their fish with respect, all good skippers carry priest and so do good RSAs. I always try to ensure any fish being returned will survive.

Must admit I had to smile at the wrasse high speed retrieve bit, fishing the gullies is about the only time I use a medium size eggbeater to facilitate a high speed retrieve over rocks and to date after a life time of catching wrasse like that I have never come close to drowning any, I must have slow reels.

Most matches now days are catch measure and release if not being kept for the table, most clubs require a bucket to keep the fish in until measured by steward so the bad old days are well behind us.

I;ve been coarse Fishing all my memorable life and have only just started to sea fish seriously.

From coarse fishing i take every care with any fish i catch. To date i've caught about 30 fish from the beach Of which 2 i've taken for the plate. I've returned fish which i'm told are sizeable quite simply because there not big enough for a meal so whats the point. I have seen people walking back with buckets with cod ranging from about 1 1/2 lb to 5Lb and the same angler going on about fish stocks. I can understand taking a cpl of fish home but some are just plain greedy and not truly thinking about there sport. Most fish caught can be returned alive if a little care is taken or if you can actually be bothered. In my opinion based on my observations so far most sea anglers couldnt care less about fish care if its not big enough to eat its just wasted your precious bait.

everytime i catch a fish i'm lucky when i blank i'm a hopeless angler.

I can't speak for river / lake fishing as i've never really enjoyed it , i tried it once when i was a nipper and thought it was boring .....but anyway.

Boat fishing has to be a speciality of mine and i've done a fair bit of it in my 33 years on this planet.

I couldn't or daren't mention the amount of times i have seen a new angler aboard a boat and not have the foggiest idea what to do with a ling / cod / bleg(all small sized mind).... all for his friends who have joined him on the angling / drinking trip to tell him that its no good and throw it overboard!!

In my personal opinion , i think that BOAT angling , instead of sea angling (2 different things) is seen by the happy go lucky bloke in the club as a bit of a holiday and release from the hum drum life that he has back home and doesn't give a monkeys chuff what he catches and has no real regard for what he will be adding too by not looking after the 1-2 pound cod he has enjoyed getting stick from his mates from by catching it.

In fairness , i would say that there are some very good and considerate boat anglers out there , i would hazard a guess of the amount of anglers i have spent my time fishing with that maybe 60% are in the know , 20% are learning and the last 20 are absolute d1ckheads who don't deserve to be in the possession of a rod.

My assumption is only for BOAT ANGLERS though.

Fishing is fishing , Life is life , but life wouldn't be very enjoyable without fishing................ Mr M 12:03 / 19-3-2009

You could head south for a trip in the summer Mr Motorola, see how us other half fish, you would be more than welcome, ask Ivan. :)

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

The reason why i suggested it was for the diversity of the fishing. Absolutly lots to choose from depending on tides of course. And Ivan can show us again how to catch the prawns during the evening, before we go and raid the eat all you can ghurka restaurant.

John Brennan is inviting me up to whitby this summer, so perhaps we can sort out something with him Ivan, going to be interesting.

This is way off topic :offtopic:

But it needs saying.

Since I joined this forum in 2007 it has opened a whole new aspect of sea fishing for me.

I have met up with and joined anglers from all over the country who use the forum.

Good friends have been made and my fishing has improved.

I must thank the administrator and moderators for making this possible and may they long keep up the good work so other anglers like myself may enjoy this comradeship.:clap:
