butyric acid

hi all, just bought a biggish batch of belcham butyric acid boilies after reading the hype. i haven`t had a take on them yet and was wondering if anyone else has tried them with better results?

I bought some butyric acid and got as far as the doorstep before the missus stopped me and said "there's no way that stuff's coming in the house, I could smell it from the end of the drive!!!". It stank!!

 

I used it a few times in my basemix, but it didn't make any difference to my catch rate, bringing me to the conclusion that it was hype. Having said that, on paper it should do the business.

I checked this stuff out on Google, and it said that B acid was the ingrediant that your body produces to make you throw up.........and that is what the smell is

cheers guys some interesting points there, i`ll carry on with it a bit longer as i suppose its early days yet.

that stuff is very good with cheasy type baits, or fruits otherwise it doesnt seam to have any effect what so ever.

a mix of frozen/dried and fermented shrimp mixed with that stuff sounds quite a nasty sort of floavour to have in a bait, but heh, if the fish like em...or not in this case

I have been given a recipe for a good bait..any decent base mix..add a spoonful of Butyric acid and some diced carrots.

Boil lightly.

 

Stinks like vomit.
