been hearing a lot about this line, does any one use it, is it as good as its made out to be?.

being the in thing i will have to buy some, just wondering what is the best kind to get.

any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated

I field tested various brands a few years ago. Berkely Vanish I found very unreliable (which is very unlike Berkely). The best I used (and still do) was Grand Max, which is distributed under their own labels by Gardner in the carp sizes and Preston in the match sizes.

Us fly anglers use it a lot - it is stiff which reduces tangles and it sinks quickly - should be good for ledgering with but may be too stiff for hook lengths. There was an excellent review of all the major brands in a recent issue of "Trout Fisherman" (I think it was Feb 2005 issue but I have lent it out). I use Ashima and Fulling Mill which are reasonably priced. I never buy the real expensive stuff - it's usually no better! How about that for a bit of cross-fertilisation!

I use it for hook lenghts but not main line. I use wychwood in 8-12lb for my Carp and Barbel fishing. I use virage fo my general fishing this is available in 2.1lb upwards. The virage is very easy to tie and reliable, especially in the low diameters and a snip at £3.50 for 40m spool

Personaly I think it is $hite. Do the glass of water test and see this "virtually invisable" line for yourself, better still compare it to clear Amnesia or any other clear line for that matter.

I cannot tie a knot using fluro whatsoever, they all come undone in the 12lb and up breaking strains :confused:

What knots do you guys use for fluro?

polamar is the strongest and easiest to tie with fluro

being new,ish to all theses new lines etc, i took the shop guys advice and bought esp ghost.

as i say it looks the buiss, obviously not tried it yet.

and i dont think you will find a line that is invisible.
