THE RIVER AVON N WARWICK

I want to fiish in the river avon in warwick and was wondering ifi wouldcatch anything with a lure. If so what type of lure. Does anyone know if there are barbel,bream or chub in that area of water and how to catch them. The actual area of river is the river in St Nicholas' Park.

Go down with a float rod, some maggots, bread & corn. You will catch something. I doubt many people will point you to their "hidden" swims.

Even though i;m only about 30 mins away i know absolutely nothing about the avon. My first port of call would be the local tackle shops to gleem information. I know theres one regular to AN that fishes that area but i havnt seen him post for a while.
