Funny how you only appear on here when you have a book to sell.

So what, its not true as it happens, but even if it was what does it matter. I have been visiting the site for a fair old time Pooch, and if I wanna post this up, tis a free country :P

It doesn't matter....I won't be buying it. You say you use this site, so use it. You must have some angling knowledge, so how about sharing it, when you don't have something to sell.

Old poster or new poster, I think it would be polite to give Elton some sort of financial incentive for your advertising. Given how hard he works its not really fair to use AN for free advertising.

maybe this thread can be moved to the 'someone just trying to sell something' board?

I cant justify paying the extra for a "collecters" book so will have to wait till I can get a second hand copy of Ebay! Or is it only the limited run your having done Mark?

Lots of specialist books (look at the many limited run carp titles) seem to be like this now.I accept that it only takes a few years and most then realise much more than the initial price but it kind of grips me as I dont really buy books as an investment but to read and see what knowledge I can glean from them!

Is it a crafty buisness move Mark, only a reletively small expected market,or just prohibitively expensive to do long runs that causes this?

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Mark has made quite a few posts here over the years, so there's no problem.

It would be nice to receive an 'official' press release, as I can then add it to the main site, where many anglers who don't use forums will also see it.

Well thats the "official" view then! From a mere members point of veiw yes Mark is blatently selling his book but thats the whole point hes doing it blatentlyt and not trying to sneak it in "hidden" in a post like many people (who incidently never post anything else) do. I think hes contributed enough over the years to do so without being hauled over the coals for it.

Yes I think he "owes" Elton an "official press release" but come on lads! When I advertise my memoirs (entitled "How I caught F---k All!" the follow on to my worlds worst selling " How not to catch big bream") I will be doing the same as well! Very limited run that one will be!

And Im not after a free book either as I thought Zander Fishing was crap! (sorry Mark only kidding!)

Well us fat boys have to srtick together!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Budgie, your last book, "Caged Budgie - My Escape From Hell", about the time you were locked in overnight at an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet was an excellent story. The heroic escape detailed in the book is rivalled only by Bravo Two Zero.
