BT - Why?

Just been looking at the BT site.

 

At home, I have their 1mbps Broadband service, with umpteen gig of usage per month. I got a free modem and my ISDN line converted for free. I also have a number of email addresses, web space, spam protection, etc. The cost? £29.99 per month including VAT.

 

I rent an old goat shed up the road. It's my business premises.

 

The offer from BT?

 

512kbps access, 1 gig download limit per month and £150 charge for the modem and activation. Oh, and for this 'great offer', I get to pay £29.99 plus VAT.

 

They can stick that where the sun don't shine... :mad:

- Modem at work.

- Modem at home.

- Run NT4/2K/XP at home.

- Set up home to allow RAS (remote access server) connection.

- Dial from work into the home PC and while work still will be only at dial-up speeds, you can use the home connection very nicely. No additional charge.

Try a different ISP Elton, the one I work for is happy to install a business that wants it one of the supposedly "home user packages", I suspect most of the others will too.

Awk - you get charged for local calls?

 

Sorry but I was assuming (never safe) that your service was like ours with unlimited local calls as part of the basic package you pay for.

Aol not bad but there is a new service starting up in october thats doing a amazing offer at the moment
