wow. good pic leon.

 

you know the scilly isles, bodmin, dartmoor & another bit in france that i don't know the name of, they are all the inlying tops of the same lump of solidified magma that was once the root of a big mountain chain. the mountains have long since been eroded away. the area involved is huge & would have taken thousands of years to cool down, dont even ask me about the pressures involved.

Good stuff, Leon. I've visited both Yellowstone and Mt. St. Helens and was amazed by both. All the trees within a ten-mile radius of St. Helens were laid flat pointing in the other direction, and I recall seeing a wrecked 1970's era Pontiac crushed by rocks and debris about 5 miles from ground zero.

 

So, do you think St. Helens will blow again soon?

I don't know enough to comment, other than to say that some of the weather sites I visit put the caveat onto their long range forecasts 'of course this is likely to change if Mt St Helens erupts'!
