It's an eye opener to see just how many crooks there are around

 

Having now looked at the completed listings, what is even more of an eye opener is how many people are stupid enough to pay up to £26 for perfectly normal 20p coins!!

Date on one side is normal.

 

This particular situation came about because the mint was supposed to change which side had the date and made a slight mistake using undated dies for both heads and tails for some coins until the mistake was noticed. Thus the undated coins which could as easily have been dated on both sides (also an error) if those dies had been used for both sides.

 

 

Its called a mule.

The new design 20p should have no date on the Queens head side.

 

This is the first time ever that the Royal Mint have managed to

produce a coin with out a date on it, so it is a collectable and i doubt this

mistake will ever again occur.

BTW, one of my workmates has a daughter that works in a bank...seemingly, she spends ages looking through the 20p bags looking for one without a date,. not found any yet tho....:)

If this idea I'm trialling with Ebay works, there should be a few examples showing just below this reply. It'll give you an idea of what they're going for. It may be one of those cases when it's best to strike while the iron's hot, rather than hang on.

Blimey 5257 20p on ebay, most are bogus some have even put two coins in one picture

to depict two undated side's, dimwits
