Running the risk of fines? You'd think they'd all be heading for the beach where they can fish for free B)

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Around one of the lakes are 20 small fishing platforms with anglers hoping to hook a large mirror carp

....

It may be only about 9am, but he is holding a bottle of lager and is clearly the worse for drink. He questions the parentage of the fisheries officers and shouts other abuse at them.

I find all this very hard to believe! Carp fishing, beer and abuse? Surely not!

It is a beautiful morning, with tame terns splashing in the water for minnows

So those asking about minnows on another thread now know where to go............your local carp puddle.:lol::lol:

So how reliable is the rest of the report ?

The problem is its the truth. Whether this report is true or not it happens every day up and down the country. Don't get me wrong I don't mind fishing for carp but so long as it is as far away from 'the circus' as possible.

I have recently taken up Coarse angling (again) after 20 years sea fishing. I have been to a local commercial water (which is very good I must say) a couple of times now, and was surprised that when I was buying a day ticket for the water, and I offered to show the owner my Rod Licence, he stated "I dont need to see that". I thought that was odd, or is it the norm? Doesnt exactly put off the licence dodgers if they dont have to show their licence if purchasing a day ticket.
