I've no idea why a photo of a fishing rod poking out into a lake at sunrise would win July's competition But win it has!We've all seen this evocative scene first thing in the morning, sun and mist rising, angler expectant etc etc, but how many I wonder have actually captured it?

 

Very well done to fruitloopy for an excellent "mood" shot and to all who entered to, July's Competition boasts a cracking lineup...once again.

Well done Fruitloopy on a very worthy win! I loved that picture the first time I saw it, and I still do.

 

...and what about Snatcher, who snatched the next three places! (I particularly liked that lovely shot of Scarlet....very, very nice!)

Well done Fruitloopy,a worthy winner Looking forward to the august comp now. I find that these comps keep me on my photographic toes and make me constantly try and think of new ideas. Aug 12th there is a meteor shower due to be seen here in the UK. Here in Drummore at our "retirement caravan" there is just about no light pollution so IF the weather conditions allow will have my first bash at photographing "shooting stars"
