Vote New Labour. Despite pension funds never being taxed on their income since their inception in the 1930's / 1940's Gordon Brown introduced the tax 60 years later which has cost the pension funds nearly £40 billion representing 70 percent of the deficit. It is also reported that spending on welfare has risen by £43 billion compared to only £26 billion on education and £37 billion

on health.Noticeably this means that all your pension fund money ripped off by Labour has been ****** up the wall on welfare benefits.

It is such a pity so many people dont understand what brown did, worse, its a pity people

cant see that no one in blairs govt know what the hell they are doing. There is not 1 single thing this govt should be proud of, or anyone who supports them.

Those of us in public "service" bloody well are affected. We have a pension fund just like everyone else and to contribute to making up the cash shortfall, Mr Brown has decided that 104,150 of us are to loose our jobs.

And, to take Chesters1 up on his point, a third of stff delivering front line services earn less than £14,000 a year. After 40 YEARS service, the civil service pension payable on a £14,000 a year job is just £7,000 a year.

theres more "workers" in DWP than soldiers in the army ,104,000 is rather less than the 900,000 that have been employed in government jobs since blair was first elected as king.

once he gets his way and england is regionalised then gov employees will soar with the extra layer of red tape ,probably this means that well over 2mil people will be employed directly under blair ,this ensures 2 mil extra votes ,no-one will be silly enough to vote themselves out of a job

or was it you were immunised by the output of hundreds of munitions factories ,caked in nice asbestos dust ,the output of thousands of steamtrains and millions of coal fired fires on top of high explosive residues from falling bombs and living in dank shelters like chislehurst caves :D

Ken L:

I don't think anyone, who works in the real world of work, has any sympathy for public servants.

I have to work nights and overtime to earn more than that, with NO pension on the end of it!

580 of us have just been told we are redundant next year!

FTSE100 beginning 1998 - 6000

FTSE100 today 2004 - 4500

1997 estimated pension fund SURPLUS in excess of £60 billion

2004 pension fund DEFICIT £57 billion

1997 estimated numbers on benefits (unemployment and incapacity) 1.5 million

2004 estimated nubers 3.0 million

It does not matter which statistics you look at on the economy, all the figures show that New Labour is an abysmal failure.
