Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Because the angler who wants to use it is nervous about electricity as he was near a tree that was struck by lightening once and he will be fishing mainly near a lot of power cables.

Plus he said he has hear that carbon often becomes very brittle in winter

If i had 200 bats to spend,it would be on a decent carbon rod and i just wouldn't fish near any power cables, which,he shouldn't really be allowed to do anyway..

Terry Eustace?

That's the Fella! Thank you, I've been trying to recall that name for ages.

Terry Eustace - He used to make some great rods in the early mid 80's. Is he still in the business? I've no idea how old he was/is.

Excellent! Imagine a rod made by Terry Scott! Exploding cigar holder, flower poking out of the end, electric shock clip on the handle. :D

Currently in manufacture and under £200.00 any suggestions.

Looking for a good general purpose fibreglass float rod possibly a full action parabolic (Avon perhaps) style float rod about 13 foot, no particular quarry in mind?

I have an Abu Mk 5 13' hollow glass match rod thats seen very little use. Obviously heavier than today's carbon equivalents but a nice rod for general float fishing.

If you can tarvel to south london its yours for a tenner.

Wonder if the buyer who paid nearly £900 for a centrepin is the same top buyer...too rich for me and way way over priced.

I like teh description which describes almost boasting, that it weighs 81/2 oz! These are/were good rods, and I wanted one at the time but £95 posted - blimey!

Yes Terry is still at it! he goes under the name of "Gold Label Tackle",

Some of his old glass rods/blanks have become legendary among specialist anglers (not bad for bog standard Conoflex blanks with a few inches chopped off here and there then sprayed brown!).The standard of the build quality on the built rods was also very high.Used to still be able to get hold of some of his blanks still up to the 90's at least.

Such was the respect held for Terry's rods when my self and Rob first started going out to Spain looking for big cats his "Big Pike" in glass was our initial choice until Bruce & Walker kindly took up the challenge and built some blanks to our specs. However the "Big Pike" still had its moment when I took a couple of friends of ours down there. One (Darrel) used one as his third rod and that was what he caught his first big cat on! Wasn't massive by today's standards but 70lb odd wasn't bad for an old glass pike rod!
