Does anyone know if it is possible to get these programmes on a Sattelite Broadcast? I have now found Channel five proper and was told that Fiver/Five US were also available. But despite my best efforst cannot find them!!

 

I can still get them on the old SKY box even with an old card! But not with the new free to air sat box. It's a Triax SR110 if ti makes any difference! And the problem is I have asked all the usual places like Triax themselves etc but had NO replies as yet.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

i have a satellite decoder and all but channel five are scrambled (you can see the channel name but the box lists it as scrambled),on freesat boxes (subtle difference) they are probably free to air ,i expect they are scrambled because sky and virgin users pay to see them ,they also ofcourse pay to see some of the free to view channels i see for nothing so its swings and roundabouts.

the companies that sell ordinary sat boxes as freesat boxes are on thin ice they are very different to each other IE freesat boxes get a 7 day EPG mine is now and then etc

mine is a Comag (german) SL100HD ,it promised it was freesat it is not but for the price good enough for me with its PVR built in.

a software update provided ITV HD which i couldnt get for the life of me on its original software.

you could then pipe it to your wall sized telly :D

yes the triax is a free to view so doesnt have the freesat logo on it thus it wont have the freesat capabilities.they are nice enough to say the EPG isnt the freesat version which a lot of companies do not

Yep. My PC is currently linked to a 50" plasma - but I don't need a licence because it isn't set up to record or display broadcast signals.

Lots of other sources for legal content without the need for a licence if you look about a bit as well.

You can get them on Freeview!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

There's the rub! Apparently my part of Herefordshire can't get Freeview yet but we have been getting a limited amount for the past 4 years. Just recently we seem to have had an upgrade and we can get a lot more all of a sudden.........not sure if it's good or bad :blink:

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

I suppose the obvious question is - Why would anybody want to?

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.
