I was once stopped by an over eager young copper because i had my lath hammer tucked into my nail pouch whilst standing looking/admiring at my work.

,He asked me what io was doing with such a " weapon " he also asked me if i had anyy more offensive weapons on my person ??

 

I said yes and proceeded to produce my Stanley knife, his face was a picture. I asked him if he was taking the ****, at that point he said he could arrest me for carrying concealed weapons.

After about an half hour " debate " a nice superior officer appeared on the scene. ELLO ELLO ELLO, whats goin on ear then, ha ah, i explained my plight, standing at the bottom of a scaffold with a newly recovered roof above us. The older copper looked at my tools and told me to get on with it.oh and nice job by the way, he uttered.

The young coppers face was a picture, but hey, he was doing his job, no skin off my nose.
