I was just reading this article and wondered what a 'snatch' is in fishing terms?

What is the difference between that scenario and using a sparsely-dressed Ally's Shrimp on the same rig ?

 

Very difficult to prove intent - indeed it would be in the snatcher's interests to use the fly as he might get an extra fish or two (mouth-hooked) that way!

 

No doubt someone, somewhere, will want to ban trebles..........

I seem to recall Mr. Crabtree using trebles (hidden in a par-boiled spud) for his carp fishing......later editions magically transformed the treble to a single!

 

If it's ok for Mr. Crabtree it's ok for me

 

I rather think that the size of the trebles used snatching may be a little larger than those used for an Ally's shrimp..........but then again have you seen the size of the shrimps you get in restaurants these days?
