I've had some carbon landing net handle isuues.

You want tough, try these. You won't break them on a fish.

Fibreglass is a much better material for this application.

I have gone through so called carbon specimen landing nets like a hot knife through butter, I have yet to find a net that even halfway compares to the old shakespeare telescopic landing net handle from the 1980's

The Drennan Super Specialist is my top reccomendation
Well, i can honestly say that £40 was above my budget for a landing net handle. Hell, i've got some nice rods that cost less than that. But having done a fair bit of Googling, i can't fault it, so am gonna buy one with the view that i'll never buy another. To be fair, i've spent a good 5 or 6 hours scouring the 'net for a "bargain", so even if i had bought a handle for a tenner off eBay, it wouldn't of been any cheaper than spending 40 quid in the first place... :D

Was quite keen on the Conoflex ones suggested by Sportsman but none of the listed suppliers are within reasonable distance and most of the online shops return "nothing found" when searching for Conoflex or looking for the brand name. I could only find one or two online shops that sold Conoflex stuff and all they had listed was a couple of rods. Quite disappointed to be honest.

Anyway, thanks for your help guys.

Get the Drennan.

I bought one last year, and it is now the first piece of tackle I put in my bag. Superb bit of kit.

The only thing I would watch is that you don't over extend it.

Where's the 'ANY' key?

My friend made his own.

He purchased a wooden Mop handle and fashioned his own landing net pole from it.

Adding the screw fitting and treating the Wood exterior before adding a comfort hand grip. The handle lasted him for years.

One of the bonuses was that it was exceptionally hard to damage.

I suppose if a rod is a means of getting the fish to the net and a net is the means of getting the fish to the bank and you look at it that way, both are equally important.

I have a very strong extendable net pole. It's black with a brass screw hole to take the net and has a folding lock down device that enables you to have the pole solidly set at whatever length you want, I think the pole must be 9 or 10ft or more when at full stretch. I just can't remember what make it is. I did notice Matt Hayes using the very same pole in the great rod race DVD's. I've used the drennan one which is great but it just can't touch this one in any way. I'll try and see if there's any makers name on it but I've never noticed one before.
