What Have I Done?

I've just bought my first lens!

Nothing too dear, but I have the feeling it may be the photographic equivalent of having a quick puff on a crack-pipe. Addiction beckons!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Couldn't get a filter for it in the airport, and I can't find my UV one,so now I'm back....

Elton,

The UV filter is on the lens basically as a protection against damage to the lens glass, many people these days do not use them as they can interfere with the quality of the photo, If your lens has a built in or screw on lens hood then that will act has protection and is all I use, if you still wish to use a UV then buy the best you can, try "sevendayshop" they have 58mm UV filters from about £3.50 delivered to £16.00 for the cannon brand UV and all in between really good value.

Good luck.

Richard.

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

Cheers, guys.

Richard - 'lens hood'; I'm glad you mentioned that, as I didn't know what they were called and felt a bit dumb asking :D

I'm going to have a look at a few bits on 7DayShop, as I'm also interested in keeping the lens clean. I took a load of photos on holiday, only to find some of them were tainted :(

I'm also interested in battery solutions, as I understand I can get more powerful ones and a holder that takes two at a time.
