Another 6lb chub today!

It was tough going this afternoon, until late on. I normally have a morning session and they are usually more productive on the Kennet.. Fished from 4 til 9pm in my Mr Crabtree swim. In the last 2 hours got three brownies, best 1lb, 1nice grayling 14oz (first from this stretch), 4 dace - best 9oz!, :yeah:, two chublets and a 6lb 4oz beastie! I think I caught it last year, I recognised it's fat shape.

Fourth session of the season and my third six! Yippee! Where's that 7? Mind you, still no barbel - not that I'm complaining!

Only problem was, I forgot my camera :wallbash: I used it to take some work photos and left it in my work bag. In only realised when I went to photo my grayling, so you'll have to take my word for it.

Great going arbocop, nice one.

Thats the second six reported on here this season from the Kennet and we've only just started August. I bet you can't wait for winter.

All the town centre swims look really fishy, loads of weed. Althoug, whenever I've tried there, I've never caught much. Hence the half hour drive upstream....

This was the last one I reported DSCF2409.jpg - come October this would be a 7lber. Look at it's belly!

Nice one Mike, time you got a seven out in'it, at this rate it may well be next week :D

Thanks, but I can't get out again for weeks - unless I can wrangle something. From tomorrow, work requires three weeks consecutively. Nice!

Well done Mike - I was out with my mate Paul on Saturday morning - probably not too far from where you were! ;) We started the morning with our first ever Kennet otter sighting - we both saw it very close up - in full view, on the bank - definitely an otter. Seen loads of mink in the past and this definitely wasn't a mink! Keep an eye out for it when your next down - it ranges far and wide - and has been seen more than once near Bulls Lock.

Anyways - Paul caught his first ever 6lb chub - having taken over 'my' swim - I only had a few hours spare before going off to athletics (my lads). Caught trotting too - he also contrived to lose a goodish barbel at the net!

Pic on my blog.

Great result Mike, is catching 6lb Chub getting a bit tiresome yet? I'm sure all the pre-baiting I did for you Saturday morning helped....and the fact that I wasn't with you to jinx the session.

It's never a 'six', let's put it back
