Badgers

Didn't understand the second link but then again I didn't watch it all......I got bored!

As to the first link, well, as an ecologist and oddly enough going to do a job tomorrow involving badger mitigation.... I must say..what's the problem? the animals are dead and as the woman says, only going to be wasted by rotting in a ditch. It's perfectly legal to use badger parts with a licence, or if can be proven to be roadkill.

A senseless waste not to use it in my opinion!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Hi Worms,

The second link was just a bit of fun, don't watch it all, it goes on for 17 mins.

Exactly my thoughts on the re use of a dead badger. What was the matter with the woman, should have been done for wasting police time.

Irresponsible bunny-huggers. If she didn't pick them up, this would happen and it could lead to unsafe roads!

Lynda Korimboccus, head of the Scottish Animal Rights Alliance, said the use of the animals - even if they were killed on a road - was wrong. Sorry goes RIGHT over my head that one Lynda!!! Care to explain it please love?

She added: "Using a dead animal for clothing perpetuates the idea that that's what animals are for. Well it IS what they are used for (besides other things!) Seen any pictures of Neanderthal men lately??)

"That will lead to the deaths of other animals which will be killed to satisfy the market for fur." WOW!! that must be the most stupid statement ever from a woman!! Unless of course YOU know different!

Sorry but WHY does the BBC use such crass statements from such stupid people?? OR is that the idea!! get them to shoot themselves down??

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

There is some logic in what she says, to be fair. What she's alluding to is that if the idea caught on and such products became 'fashionable', then demand for roadkill badger fur may outstrip supply, at which point the prices would inflate and some badgers may find themselves dying of other means than a front bumper.

But my contention Elton is if that WAS the case it would take a LOT more than one person who collect dead badgers from the side of the road! And of course someone would have to be able to cure the hides etc and then you would have to find the sales and money to support the venture and it would soon get publicity and so if it was illegal would end! Mind having said that there are enough idiots out there who would gas badgers for nothing anyway!!

So yes, she MAY have something sensible to say indeed. But as far as I am concerned she is trotting out the same old same old and it make no sense at all. It is knee jerk crap spieled out so many times it now means absolutely nothing! Except to the "bunny huggers" among us of which I know you are NOT one. :P
