Rod Question

Thought some of you may like to give thoughts on this one:

I wonder if you can answer the following question for me.

I have an 11ft long, 2½ TC Predator Pike rod. Can this rod be used for Carp fishing?

What is the difference apart from badging and maybe ring size and number of rings?

Thanks in advance

Short Answer......Yes.! No need for a long one use it and have fun

Hi Elton, that rod will do the job no problem, when you cast out the carp wont know what graphics are on the rod, if it makes you feel better put a sticker saying carp over the pike, i use an 11 ft. carp rod cos its easier to transport, you'll just not be able to cast as far as a longer rod.

Why shucks - in some heathen, backwards parts of the world :D , we even use rods of 8 feet for carping - fine for catching but not so fine if you want to toss your rig WAY out.

Your Pred rod likely has more rings than a carp rod would. Again IMO better for catching but not as good for casting.

Be absolutely fine Elton,

Conversly, I started Piking on an 11ft 2lb tc carp rod! No probs, but moved up later to cast easier the bigger baits required in Pike fishing.

Like everything else, will do until you start to get the Specialise bug!

Good Luck
