German Mini Monstrosity

What on earth have those damned Germans done to our mini? Just look at their latest monstrosity, the Mini Countryman. I can't wait to hear what Jeremy Clarkson has to say about this. I found a picture with a proper mini for comparison.

Oh and it STARTS at sixteen grand!! Hardly a car for the masses.

Is it likely that anyone could give a damn about anything that Jeremy Clarkson says about anything.

I learned to drive in a Mini in 1965 and had several afterward up to a Cooper 1275S.

Would I have the original or the BMW version?

The new version like a shot.

Much better car in every way

If I had to drive any sort of distance and still wanted to be able to walk at the other end I would take the new version ;)

Well I'm with Colinw.....it's bloody hideous. Still what did you expect, an elegant car from the Germans?

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

The old Mini was a brilliant car, when you compared it to Ford Anglias, Morris Minors and Austin A40s (My Hillman Imp was better ;))

However, it doesn't begin to compare with the new version which has a better engine, brakes, road holding, suspension, performance, interior, seats. It is quieter and infinitely more comfortable. Is it as much fun? Can't say really as I was 45 years younger when I drove the original so I had different requirements

Oi, how dare you slag off moggies!

We've got a 1960 traveller with a tuned 1275 engine, discs up front, 4 speed box with overdrive in 3rd and top. It'll pull 90+ and do 41mpg. :P
