HI all can anyone give me some advice on the above rods

i have a chance of these at a good price there is a choice of 2 sets of 2 ,

2 barbel 2.75 Tc or 2 carp 2.75 Tc

i have been told that they are both the same except in name

however the barbel rods are £10 cheaper rod but have a better performance action than the carp rods ,

 

i want to use them for carp fishing but i am willing to use any rod that will suit whether it is the carp or the barbel

it doesn't Bother me ,

if i can use the barbel for my carp fishing then the £20 could be used to buy

bait or something else.

If they are barbel rods then at 2.75lb they're a bit overgunned for barbel fishing but if the two rods are of the same blank design then the difference might be in the last couple od feet on the barbel blank

 

If its a true barbel blank it should have a softer couple of foot built into the weave to aid bite detection whereas the carp blank would'nt be designed to be used the same way and sat on alarms , line pointing at the weight rather than barbel style tip watching

 

The carp version should be a little stiffer in its last section if that makes any sense

Thats more like it! Never used them my self but I often hear people praising the Hyperloop range.

 

I have a pair of Hyperloop in 2lb test and rate them great action at not silly money Steve

We are not putting it back it is a lump now put that curry down and go and get the scales

have I told you abouit the cruise control on my Volvo ,,,,,,,bla bla bla Barder rod has it come yet?? and don`t even start me on Chris Lythe :bleh::icecream:

I owned a pair of the 2 1/2lb tc Hyperloop Carp rods for 2 seasons and they were a fantastic buy.

 

You'll need to match the tc to the style of fishing you intend to do. If it's small water carping then the 1.75lb would be perfect and a lot of fun however if your fishing waters where a decent chuck is needed or you want the option of using large PVA bags or a method feeder then I would go for the 2.75lb.

Just my opinion :)

I have a pair of hyper loop barbel rods. For the money I cant fault them.

 

I can see no problem using them for carp at a maximum of 40 - 50 yards range.

 

Before the advent of distance casting took over the carp world, 1.75lb tc rods were the norm for carp angling. So unless your looking to cast to the horizon the barbel rods would suffice.

I have one of the Hyperloop Barbel rods at 1.75 lb great fun for small fish up to around 7 or 8 lb but hard work for anything much bigger. A very good through action and a pleasure to use as long as you are not after any big lumps.
