Correct, I prefer that stretch because there's more of it but I haven't fished it for a while. My fish came from a perfect swim, the same spot as your 2lb'er I believe Also enjoyed first hand reports of chub being caught four weeks ago from further down..the fish passes are working so your lost monster may not have been a troot.

Is it possible for fish to get from the kennet into the lambourn? the waterfall into the grounds at the manor is pretty steep?

Ah so you worked out where the island was!! Good news re-chub would also like to see some dace make an appearance - the lowest reaches of the river produced my 1st ever 1lb dace way back in Jan'89. If I'd lost that fish back in July I'd have been convinced that I'd been connected to a barbel....so who knows!
