Sport or Hobby

I fish, therefore I am.

 

I only re-discovered fishing in June last year. Since then there has hardly been a week where I haven't got at least a couple of hours at the bankside.

 

It's neather a sport or a hobby to me. It's medicine for the week I have at work. Alka Seltzer for the mind.

 

Just me, my fishing tackle, water, birds, trees, breeze, sun, rain...and sometimes the odd one or two fish....which is nice

Obsession, passion, calling, something that is in your bones, a thought, an image, a desire that you carry with you at all times; the wish to go a-fishing is all these things. It is a longing to be at one with nature, to pit your wits against that which is unseen or if it is seen; to partake of ‘a perpetual series of occasions for hope’. It is an urge to enjoy hours of incessant expectation whilst on the bank and to dream of past triumphs when you are not.

 

Sport, hobby, pastime; doesn't even come close...

I'm the same as other posters Alan Fawcett etc.iv'e not been able to do alot the last 3yrs its then when you really miss it theres not a day go by when i'm not thinking about fishing ,where i might go ,what new tackle shall i buy this site &others has kep't me sane during my darker hour;s hour;s but now iv'e come out into lifht again already planing my fishing outing's for the coming season after June 16th not reallyinto fishing in what i stilll call the close season just a personal opoinion not knocking anglers who do.

I agree that fishing is art, and I often use my fishing skills in everyday life.We can also combine sport and hobby feachers to have...sporby

Well got to be be hobby for me. As well as running TJs thats just another part of the hobby.

As for being a sport well the only time its a sport for me is when i'm fishing a match.

Or fishing with Ferret but i all ways beat him so not much sport there really
