Here comes Spring :)

Very different here in Kent. At Wingham the weeping willow by the clubhouse has just burst into leaf, whilst some elders have been in leaf all week. Everything seems early this year, despite all the snow in December, possibly due to few sharp frosts for a while. Spring is certainly earlier than the last 2 years.

It's an odd spring alright.

Some plants are early in my garden, but many are late. Wallflowers, and Hellebores have hardly bothered at all and normally flower in January, yet some crocus (which normally start about now) have been and gone. The snowdrops have been about right. Pansies were frosted off. tete a tete daffodils not out yet and they normally come out in the first two weeks of Feb.

Most cherry trees and willows are slightly early, but nowhere near full leaf yet. The winter flowering cherry in the garden at work has been out for three weeks at least - it normally only manages two. An odd year.

There were loads of snowdrops out all along the Thames yesterday, it was fantastic, The crocuses are starting to flower and the daffodils are not far behind. Buds and blossom are starting to peek out on some trees. What a difference to last year!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Plenty of time chesters.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
