Daiwa aftersales service.

2 weeks ago my Daiwa Vulcan X Carp Rod broke. I was gutted but surprised by the break more than anything else. I've used Daiwa gear all my angling years and I've never had any bother with anything before.

Anyway. I called Daiwa and after a brief conversation they advised me to bring the rod in for a look and so I did.

When I arrived, I was greeted by a very helpful and pleasant young girl. I gave her a short description of the problem. The rod had broken cleanly above the reel grip.

I was asked to take a seat for 5 minutes while "they" had a look. I took my seat and waited for the outcome of the "inspection". Nail biting stuff I can assure you as I always fear the worst.

5 minutes later (as promised) the girl returned with a new (and improved) rod and presented me with a service receipt and a smile.

Now how's that for service? The rod was 11 months old and it was exchanged without any hint of displeasure.

I just thought you all should be made aware of this service. People are always quick to complain about mistreatment from other companies so I thought it would be a nice gesture if I thanked them publicly for thier help.

Thanks again, all the girls at Daiwa for making my day.

I've had 2 rod sections replaced, One for free and one I paid for (was my fault) I have had spares sent for reels too. Always been good service.

 

Apart from the other day. I need a drag knob for a reel I got in america, now diawa UK said they don't stock the spares, I said I suspected as much, so I asked, could you get me a spare though? They said "No"

 

so I phoned Daiwa US up and they are posting it me. Would have been nice if the UK could communicate to the US. Instead of me having to do it.

:cool: I have always found Daiwa to be extremely helpfull,likewise Shakespeare.Had dealings with Shimano about ten years back and was not impressed,don't know if they have improved in recent years or not.

well done daiwa, honesty products at near honest prices and what seems a honest after sales service. Many companys just think of the sales service but forget word of mouth sales more than any other form of ads
