Ridiculous pellet price on ebay

Marukyu JPz jelly pellets RRP 5.95

 

I have spent an hour trying to locate some this morning and have found that just about every stockist is fully sold out.

I did manage to find a shop that had two pots left which I have ordered - The lady there told me she has sold her whole stock this morning with people ordering four of five pots.

 

Could this be the reason they are selling out JPz on ebay

 

Or is it due to the rumour that even Marukyu are out of stock and awaiting a shipment due late September into the UK?

Wendy Perry is plugging them hard at the moment...she's just got some sponsorship from them.

JPz Review

 

From what I gather anglers using them in matches have been doing very well and tried to keep it quiet.

The angling press have let the cat out of the bag and now there has been a ruch to get hold of them.

 

I wanted to get some at the start of august but due to finacial commitments did not have any pocket money to buy some.

The ebay auction sold @ sixteen pounds + four pounds postage = £20.00 for a jar costing £5.99

 

Could this be a very good marketing ploy which has been done in the past by other distributors (I remember a certain games console with mass TV, Radio, internet, magazine, buses, billboards, loads free in competions - the full advertising works doing this a few years back).

Release the product with limited amounts available, after a month or so start a major advertising campaign so that the stock available gets sold quickly creating a vacuum. The stock starts selling at stupid prices on ebay etc creating a bigger vacuum as demand increases and more people must have or want one.

Its panic time and low and behold the distributers flood the market knowing they have created demand to sell.

 

With regards to this product (JPz) the shops have been told they will receive new stock sometime towards the end of Semptember.

So far JPz is only available in 6mm red - do you think come the new stock the shops will have the whole range appear? ;)

You could be right, at the weekend I waited in the car while my partner popped in to the local tackle shop for some halibut pellets and she said a whole side of the shop had been converted to Marukyu baits but with very little stock on the shelves. Appartently they are there best selelrs.
