Matt - with glass rods you are fine as long as the rod is low as it would be in a pod. But if you get a fish on and it's raining to have the rod surface wet, you have a real decision to make about raising the rod high in the air. :D

What a wonderful picture I just love extremes of weather......but we don't get to much in the UK......did anybody see on one of the cable?sky programs a guy fishing for Steel??? something or other and who got struck by lightning and survived........he really did have a dodgy experience........ still fishes though but legs it at the first sign of a cloud ......bless him he was really brave.

It takes longer for the river to get to the sea than it does for a man to make an error.

Yup.

Oncorhynchus mykiss and also known in the US as

rainbow trout, bow, redsides, red-band trout, silver trout, steelhead, kamloops.

"Steelhead" because the color when they first enter the river to prepair for spawning activity is a chrome/silver sort of blue. They will slowly transform to the Rainbow color pattern that is so well known.
