Where can I find....

I managed to get one but that was over a year ago and that was an amazing effort literally hours on the net and phone. I hope you can find one as they are excellent rods.

Although I expect they will be sold on Ebay at a premium price now and you will have to accept you are going to pay more for one and even more for a hardly used one than they would have been brand new.

This looks like one to me....

I had MK IV and sold it. Personally i'd look for a Drennan super tench or MK III. I found the MK IV to be of cheaper build especially when compared to the super tench.

I bought a Drennan MKIV Tench float rod from Ringwood Tackle two seasons ago, I don't know about other Drennan models (Apart from the Specialist rods) but I have caught loads of Barbel trotting a stick or small avon on my local stream using my MKIV and it has handled them all very well and the build on mine seems fine. I don't know about the other Drennan rods but the tip to middle action seems very good as well.

I will have a look at the super tench now that you have said it is a better tool; I can sense another spending spree appoaching very soon especially now that Xmas is approaching.

BB, I bought one of the mk IV's on the strength of your recommendation and as you told me they are very good rods thank's. I got hold of a as new super tench just after and found I prefered it, appart from the feel of it the guides, finnish etc seemed better quality to me (you may not like the sliding reel seat fittings though). Unfortunatly as you'll most likely know they arn't available new from the shops any longer so if you do decide to look round for one chances are it'll be fleebay where you'll get one. You may well prefer the mk IV but my preference is for the super tench and I sold my mk IV and a mkIII (both new when I got them cork still wrapped in plastic) as I liked to use the super tench so much. Better still the normark avenger though :).

Good luck BB whatever you do :) .
