There is a fishing Club/Soc. that has a 20 mile stretch of the river Avon around Ringwood, Christchurh.

I wanted to enquire about joining but don't have the Club/Soc name Can you help please.

It was featured on John Wilson (bow your head and jenufleck gracefully) on one of his programs on Dicovery Home & Leisure.

It'll probably be either Christchurch Angling

or Ringwood Angling.

Local tackle shops inthe area will sell club-books and/or day-tickets

e.g. Davis Tackle, Loni's(Christchurch), Wessex Angling, and Bournemouth Fishing Lodge or Ringwood Tackle

I am sure there is somebody down that way who can give you more information but i believe its Christchurch AC you are after they i believe own parts of the Avon and Stour but i have not got the number. The other club in that area is Ringwood AC , i think there was a recent article on these in the Anglers Mail a couple of weeks back if you can find an old copy.

Almost certainly Christchurch AC, it just depends what bit of the Avon we are talking about.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

I think Christchurch AC have the rights to the Royalty fishery on the Avon which runs through Christchurch.

It gets a nice run of sea trout.

The mullet fishing is also great in the area.

Two years ago me and the missus saw hundreds of them near the bridge where Wilson done a go fishing program.

That'll probably be me then. :) I'm a member of CAC and RDAA who both lease fisheries on the Avon.

I didn't see the John Wilson programme that was on recently but someone told me he was at Ashley Farm which is part of the Somerley Estate and fishable on the CAC ticket.

Better let me know if you need any more info, the CAC link has already been posted and I'm sure there must be membership details on their site. There could be a waiting list though, it's fairly full.
