forcing people to get a licence

Some clubs insist on copy of licence with every annual renewal maybe a good thing,i can,t come to terms with, that the guy next to me is £23.00 better off. :D

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

"Even a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work."

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

Fish in Germany and if you do not produce the rod licence then the day ticket is not issued. The day ticket records details from the rod licence and then the carbon copy of the day ticket is collected centrally. I have not fished any private lakes over there, only rivers.

I think most comercial water owners just want to see the money coming in they don't care if people have licence or not just as long as they have bought a day ticket.

Pubs can get done for having under age drinkers on the premises why not unlicenced anglers on comercial waters?

I'm back is fishing like riding a bike? you never forget how?

Whilst it may be a good idea for day ticket venues, I don't believe it's feasible for club and syndicate waters. Many such tickets are renewed annually in March about the same time that the new yearly rod licence is issued. It would therefore probably be impractical as it would take ages to renew membership if you belonged to a number of clubs/syndicates. As a result I suspect many tickets wouldn't get renewed, and so club finances would suffer at a time they're already under pressure.

Additionally, spare a thought for the poor overworked club secretaries! Most of them do the job on a voluntary basis, and it's often hard enough to find someone to fulfil the role in the first place!

Not many club anglers would fish without a licence hence the emphasis on 'day ticket' waters.

I like the fine for fishery owners caught with non licence payers fishing idea!

Jealousy: totally irrational anger directed at people who happen to be richer, prettier, thinner, cleverer and more successful than you are.
