It is not just carp anglers that employ buzzers or indeed sleep inside bivvies whilst night fishing. Many types of angler do. Chub, bream, pike, zander, catfish, and even "barbel" anglers increacingly more so now a days. I just wondered why "carp" anglers appear to take the brunt of opinion when many specialist type anglers fish with the employ of bivvy and buzzer?

 

I don't use buzzers myself anymore and prefer now to fish with just the one rod. And interestingly I've had my best season ever in terms of big fish captures whilst fishing in this manner. BUT!! This is merely my own personal choice. The very same "choice" that others enjoy with their own particular brand of fishing whatever that may be.

 

Personal choice. Dick Walker enjoyed it and he became an angling legend.

I can see your point about TV's (and radios) Peter, but bite alarms are part of the scene these days.

Personaly I would like to see every one having to serve an angling apprentiship and not allowed to use bite alarms for the first 3 years.
