Loose tackle

Recommended Posts

When i go fishing i always find floats, shots, leger weights etc. which people leave behind or get snagged in a tree or something. I save a fortune on floats and shots. But my best thing i've ever found was a net which was quite a descent one! Do you ever find much tackle when you fishing?

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

So your the guy who cashes in when i lose my tackle. Not that i let seagulls get tangled up in loose line, i manage to keep all the rubbish, its just all the usefull things like scissors that i often misplace. Nice to see that somebody benefits.

I went to my favourite venue, opened my net bag, grabbed my keep net. Holding the top ring I threw it out into the water only to see my landing net go flying off into the water and sink into the depths.

Try as I might I could not recover it, cast trebles attached to bombs and all manner of things but the net was lost. :(

I imagine some lucky so and so soon became the new owner. :P

Mullet fishing, there are marks that I particularly like fishing from low water up, long after the lead chuckers have gone home, and before they come again.

I see where the trolleys are, and can gather my harvest of weights, swivels, lures etc :)

Lure fishing lakes and river with 30lb - 50lb braid, I often drag ashore small trees (Oh! OK large branches) festooned with swim-feeders and lures etc, or tackle that had been left attached to motorbikes etc by weaker lines :)

And thigh and chest waders are great for gathering floats from the branches of bankside bushes and trees :)

At my local reservoir, the Noddies use poly-bags for tackle boxes. Not very functional but at least theres always a liberal helping of tackle lying about the place. The trees give the impression it's Xmas, even in July. Bubble floats, plugs and even the odd Jif Lemon bottle Ned bubble float for Pike). Yes, it's a haven for tackle collectors. I saved a fortune last year.
