RSPCA rescue owl tangled in Warwick fishing line

I thought I’d better come back to this for a moment. I’m not sure everyone will understand the “lighthearted” context of my previous post.

I make no excuses for irresponsible jerks who fish. But without them our equipment would be as expensive as “custom made”. Responsible anglers are a huge minority in a mass market. We, the "good guys" have a responsibility with respect toward nature in every way, including picking up after the jerks and to minimize our own “damage control”. You should know to pick up yours and all of everyone else’s “collateral damage” when you can.

The fishing tackle industry is huge. I no longer have a value number to put on one item like fishing line. Neither do I know or perhaps have never known how much is “lost” - and - how much is disposed of in a responsible manner. I’d bet 30% is “out there”. Others may comment differently and I couldn't quarrel.

Chit happens! Do the best you can. But certainly you needn’t make excuses for the losses we incur within the angling industry.

They’re fish.

The bird was found hanging about eight feet over the River Leam and the RSPCA were called but due to his precarious position it was impossible to rescue him without specialist help.

OK two points only

1) Cut the birds nest into 4 cm sections then it can become part of a bird nest. Nuff'said

2) Walking distance? Is there any other way to get 2 miles form the nearest person. ?

"Muddlin' along"
