When we met up for the photo-shoot for one of the Sea Angling mags at Chatham some years ago, you were using a blue bodied 'pin. Sorry' if Alzheimer's has presented at last, but I was sure you said it was a Shalespeare pin with a ball-race fitted. If I'm mistaken, tell me and I'll go back to taking the medication

I had a mullet blank in 2004. However I did land a 5lb 4oz from the dock in Birkenhead for a guy in August - which at least renewed my faith that mullet aren't a myth!

Thanks for that Peter, I have looked at the Wensum in various places but find it difficult to determine just where access and fishing is permitted. I do not have a problem with buying a day ticket (preferably on the bank as that gives more fishing time)so any suggestions as to where to park and then fish would be much appreciated, I have yet to build the boat so I am slightly more disadvantaged than you!!!

Haven't fished it for several months, had it netted in September but none of the biggies turned up, best around 1lb but there were several 2lb plus Perch, one Tench about 3lb and an orange and black carp that was Crucian shaped of around 3lb(10 years ago it was netted and around 20 2lb+ Crucians were caught, haven't seen hide nor fin since). Putting some skimmers in any time soon. However, hardly the place to christen a new centre pin unless I blow the float along!

Sorry to dredge this thread up from the archives, but I have been searching for a decent centrepin and since I am not that familiar with them... I'm wondering what type of rod I should find. Would a 9.5 foot fly rod be sufficient?
