If there was one day ticket water....

Within 50 miles of you where would you go and why?

because it stocks your favourite fish?

Its cheap for a good days fishing?

its run well and not full of idiots?

Or maybe its just a very beautiful looking fishery?

iImight be strange but i only fish day ticket venues for something different to my usual fishing.

Examples are the river itchen to catch grayling , The fenland drains to target zander for a few days. I'd consider a catfish session as i've never fished for them. Something like that. I have access to rivers , lakes and even canals on club books. And can fairly much target most species at a given time. Also the odd day ticket i fish tend to be miles away so its more likely to be a once a season session if i was going to fish them more frequently i'd join the controlling club where posible.

everytime i catch a fish i'm lucky when i blank i'm a hopeless angler.

Mines Reepham, about 10 mins up the road.

Really enjoyable, stuffed with carp, fantails, Rudd etc

Far to easy to fish, but it's a great treat to go there maybe twice a year and catch a shed load of fish....also really nice scenery.

Helps a bit that I stewarded a couple of thr corporate days last year and have a few freebie sessions owed as well! Lol

If I could day ticket a lake stalking big carp, like you see in a passion for angling etc then I'd love to do that...and I'd happily pay to do that. Long as I could try my trusty pen rod and make a record attempt anyway! Lol!

Easy one this, Barton Court is 20 miles from me and by far my favourite day ticket water. From October the river’s open to coarse fishing and for £15.00 you get to spend a day exploring a network of carriers and pools without jostling for position (limit of 10 anglers per day).

The coarse fish aren’t as prolific as they once were so it can get a bit ‘trouty’ but I go there for the beauty of the venue;

Lower Itchen Fishery for me - for all the reasons given - though there are some who might think that paying nearly £25 for a days fishing isn't cheap! :P

blenheim palace as it has good pike, perch and tench and they all grow big so you have a good chance to catch a very good one

you have to fish from a boat which is a nice way to fish
