Hi All

I am thinking of going to Old Bury Hill to try the big lake to catch a Zander. Can anyone give me some tips, is it a good time to catch them?

Thanks in advance

We have all waffled off the point a bit so my apologies too on this one. :)

I think mate your answers are more or less covered however if you want to PM with enquiries i will be happy to try to help :)

Thanks everyone, I was thinking of Bury Hill as it is late in the season to be thinking about catching a Zander and so was after an easy venue to catch some Zander during the day time.

From October onwards I will think about fishing difficult waters but for a first Zander it makes sense to catch an easy day ticket one.

Back end of the season can be a bit hit and miss with Zeds but you will find other waters both a lot better and a lot easier than OBH! Just the fact you will be able to night fish others and not be so restricted bait/tactics wise will give you a far better chance,Where abouts are you?

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

As i said earlier mate you really are at the wrong time of year for the zander at OBH but you never know but i think a pike you will have more chance with. Sept /october/November is good. If you fancy it then give a buzz then and i will get a Zander in your net. I used to teach Fish ins on a Saturday morning there for a few years about un hooking them and handling. Then took a group onto the bank for the day.

Give me a shout in about September but i think you really are waisting your money at the moment. If you hit some of the first 8 pegs and fish quite deep you can get some nice bream...Just simple float tactics
