Don't bother Derek. I walked along the river on Sunday during a match and about 40% of people had at least one rod set upwith a Mitchell 300 or 400 series. Some things can't be improved, but then I am a lifelong fan.

Good onyer Lyn

got lots but i prefer my ABU close faces ,mitchell made OK reels but now are clumsey wobbling relics of the past even the good 840 is saddly only for show on a shelf (actually they live in a box in the attic) :D

was proud of my pair of chrome plated 410`s though but soon got shot of them for ABU 508`s

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

I purchased my pair in 1973 still use them with my matchmakers on the river, you can not help it. :):)

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

I use mine regularly. Same as my Mitchell Match.

My new 300s are also giving good service a couple of years after buying them. I bought them as a pair for using while 2 rod quiver tipping So far I've taken quite a few fish which have needed the clutch to work and it has perfectly.
