Wouldn't be at all surprised if oil prices have been manipulated, but let's not forget who the real rip-off merchants are:

If the politicians can convinve us that it's bankers ripping us off at the pumps and not the treasury, that will be almost as big a coup for politicians as blaming bankers for their own mismanagement of public spending.
