I'm now considering going back to a feeder and swing tip

If you do, a bit of lead wire's a handy thing to have for balancing the tip when there's a bit of a tow. I've been re-living the joys of swingtipping - with a carbon rod - and enjoying every minute. Thanks again for the tips and fittings, Les, if you're reading this.

Yes...Kirby grips. Cut the little blunt ends off and glue a couple of beads in place. Nice n simple.

This is what I've been using for years, I must have made them over 10 years ago. Simply push a ladies hairgrip into the slot in the top, and secure the hairgrip with a drop of superglue.

 

Then, tie a lenght of braid, or similar, to the eye at the bottom of the bobbin and fix the other end to your bank stick.

 

The top of the bobbin is removable. to add split shot or placticine etc, for extra weight if required. Costs pennies but will last for years.
