Anyone else having problems with new forum software?

Just wondering whether anyone else is experiencing the same problems?

Since the new forum software came online recently, I've been having problems with posting, specifically when replying to another post. As I type this, there are no issues at all, but as soon as I try to respond to a post, either replying within someones elses topic, or within one I've started, everything slows down dramatically and get VERY slow and clunky, to the point that I'm checking in Task Manager to see if in fact there IS a software problem somewhere causing a generic lag on the PC (there isn't).

Typically, as I type, characters appear seconds after hitting the keyboard keys, and using any of the more advanced features (even something as simple as adding in a quote, or even an emoticon) is a total lottery: adding emoticons typically places them at the very beginning of the post I'm making (regardless of the cursor position), and using the 'quote' button from the forum toolbar might need half a dozen clicks before it activates ... other formatting buttons ('Bold' text, as an example) usually do not work, or are only applied to selected text after several 'clicks' on the button.

The problem occurs within IE9 and Firefox, and on two different PCs ... any thoughts / help / advice anyone please?

It's the new rich text editor, it's a lot heavier than the old plain text one. There may be a way of getting a plain text option, but I can't find it.

Little switch, top left of the rich text thingy?

Ah, that does indeed do the trick!

I tried clicking that and it looked as if it disabled the whole input. Could do with a tooltip, I reckon.

When they release a bug fix (which I'm desperately waiting for!), I'll see if such a thing exists :)

Quite a few of the tips can already be found here:

It's the only button in that control that doesn't have one!
